Maria Jesus (Photography & Travel Interview)

Digital Travel Guru carried out an interview with Maria Jesus check it out below.   http://www.mariajesus.co

Tell us about your blog & when you started it.

I love sharing my trips through my photography but I’ve never thought of doing it on a blog until last April, when I was in Sydney. That’s when I met so many talented people (influencers, photographers, designers) who were blogging and sharing their excellent work, then I decided to create my own blog and share my experiences through my lens.

What’s been your most memorable trips?

The most stunning country that I’ll never forget is New Zealand! Not only for its beautiful landscapes, but also for my first experience of living and working in a foreign country (and with a different language to my native one!).

What’s on your bucket list?

So many places to visit that it doesn’t fit here haha! But my next big adventure I’d love to do is working holiday visa in Australia.

What’s behind your blogs name?

It’s my first and middle name – easy to remember and pronounce both in English and Spanish.

What tips can you give to others who want to start travel blogging?

Start blogging if you’re really passionate for it. It really takes time and lots of effort to keep it up. But if you do, you’ll feel so much happiness and gratification!

What have you got planned for 2017?

Some trips around Argentina and Uruguay for the first half of the year, and then apply for the working holiday visa in Australia to travel by the end of 2017.

What’s been your favourite city  you have visited & why?

I can’t choose only one. But if I have to, it’d be Buenos Aires – my hometown! It’s beautiful no matter what neighbourhood, the weather, and the different interests for the tourists… there’s always something interesting to see or do!

Share two travel tips for our readers.

1- Be careful when taking in consideration others opinion about a destination, because they might have other interests than you. Follow your heart!

2- No matter how crazy is to travel to the destination of your dreams, just go for it! Don’t let anyone stop you!

What apps do you use to plan or research trips?

For flights I use Despegar (in South America) or SkyScanner (International), and for accommodation I choose Booking or AirBnb.

Your favourite travel quote?

It’s never too late to visit the place of your dreams.

What’s your top 5 beach’s you recommend?

 Indonesia

Australia

Vanuatu

Brasil

Argentina

What has travelling taught you?

Lots of things! But the most important was who I am. I got to know me, accept me and love me just the way I am.

What’s been your favourite foods you have tried whilst travelling?

India and Bali have the best food I’ve ever tried! So unique and tasty! You can’t have it the same way they cook it in any other part of the world.

What’s been your favourite places you have photographed?

When travelling around New Zealand, it looks like you’re on a movie the whole time! You can’t stop taking pictures!
