Interview With HC Lifestyle Blog

Guest Interview with Helen from HC Lifestyle check it out below.

I started blogging in June 2017. I wanted to start a blog in the hopes of inspiring others to be the best version of themselves. By sharing my experiences, I would like others to see that they can learn to love life every day in their own way, without having to follow other people’s prescriptions. You can find out more about me and my blog here.

How did you get your blog name?

My blog name is The HC Lifestyle Blog. I got it because I like the way my initials looks together! One square and one round!

What do you cover in your blog?

I’m a lifestyle blogger mainly focused on food, travel, and fitness, but I also have a few other bits, like this piece on my tattoos.

What tips of advice could you give our readers that may want to start a travel blog / travel video or travel photography?

To keep motivated and have a long-term goal in mind. Also, to communicate with others and get involved in blogger communities.

What are some of the benefits of blogging?

I get to share my experiences with others and hear about their experiences. In addition, I love how writing my thoughts down organises them and clears them up.

Do you cover anything else in your blog other than travel, if so what?

Yes, I also cover food (recipes, for example), and fitness (maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle).

Have you got any tips on how to stay fit and healthy whilst travelling?

Go on a lot of walks or wander around the place to explore. Additionally, doing activities such as kayaking, surfing, horse riding, anything you can find.

Have you got any places on your bucketlist? If so where?

You can check out my complete travel bucket list here.

What are some of the best things about travel?

Traveling makes you more open to different people and cultures. It also gives you great communication skills, and it makes you more independent.

Have you experienced any downsides to travel?

NO! NEVER! Kidding. Of course I have. Mainly things like customs, visas, bureaucratic things.

Is there any advice you can give people who want to start traveling for the first time?

Expect loads of stuff to go wrong, so that when it does, you won’t be surprised, and when it doesn’t, you’re happy it didn’t.

Whats your favourite city or cities and why?

I love Madrid, because it’s sunny all the time. Which is why I live here.

What are the top attractions to see in each?

In Madrid, I would definitely recommend Retiro park.

Any recommendations for best beaches you have visited? where were they?, and what did you like about them?

Lembongan island (Indonesia) is soooo nice. I loved that it wasn’t very touristy, and that the beaches were left natural.

What is your biggest travel or blogging achievement?

I consider every travel opportunity an achievement! 😀

What’s your favourite travel apps?

Google Maps helps a lot, I have App in the Air for plane info, and Cool Cousin for local guidance.

Share your top three Instagram photo links.

  1. Moroccan Camel
  2. Me trying to be fit
  3. Awesome brunch

What are 3 things your travels have taught you?

Always be open to new, unexpected experiences. Traveling alone is totally socially acceptable and enjoyable. Every place has new things to teach you.

Can you recommend any great places you have visited for our readers that has delicious food?  What sort of dishes were they? Where were these places?

Check out the food I had in Shanghai here!

Have you got any tips for our readers to save money whilst travelling?

I’m really bad at saving money whilst travelling, so I don’t think anyone should listen to me in that regard…

Do you have any tips / ideas on how our reader can earn an income whilst travelling? Do you use any methods in your blog?

I have a regular day job, and do blogging on the side. I’m not earning any money from it yet, but I know of people who do! So just keep at it and it’ll happen eventually!:)

What equipment do you use to blog? (drones / cameras / programs to edit etc)

I use a mirrorless camera to take pictures (this one). I use canva to make my graphics.

What are your travel plans this year? anything exciting?

I was in Shanghai in June (read all about it here)

How do you plan your trips? (do you for example use any websites or particular or places to research)?

I try to find the main things people recommend in that place, just on Google. And then when I’m there, I improvise.

Best websites to book flights / hotels or other ?

I use for flights and for hotels. So far, it’s been a great experience.

What 5 things do you always pack?

Power bank, wet wipes, dry shampoo, deodorant, underwear. You don’t really need much else. 😛

Agree on the part that expects so many wrong things happening when you go on a travel. The important thing is you learned on everything you do
