“Just a girl trying to cross items off her never-ending bucket list”
Bucketlist Adventures – Travel Interview
When and why did you start blogging: I began blogging earlier this month after years of self-doubt and fear of being embarrassed to even try, I decided to just go for it. I have been keeping track of my ever-growing bucket list for 10 years now, so I decided to just write it out down and write about my experiences.
What is your blog about?
I blog mostly about my bucket list, writing a post for each item I cross off. However, I also like writing about each place I have visited, as my bucket list is mostly travel related, so I write a post about each city with information such as where I stayed, my experience, must-see’s and must-do’s while you’re there. I also have started writing more lifestyle posts, as this is something that has always interested me. My blog is a little bit of every piece of who I am.
How did you decide on your blogs name?
It’s mainly about my bucket list and the adventures that list has taken me on, so I figured that was a perfect name.
How long have you been blogging for? A few weeks.
What plans do you have in the future for your blog?
Projects coming up: Writing blog posts on cities I have visited! Working on Halifax, ONT right now and then moving on to Boston!
Places to visit: SO many! I haven’t planned my next trip yet, but I am looking forward to it.
Collabs: FabFitFun, and I have a few more in talks but nothing set in stone yet!
Does your blog cover anything else other than travel?
Experiences. While my main bucket list ideas are inspired my travelling, I do have some that are not. They’re just experiences, and while some of them (such as zip-lining) would be amazing to do in a place like Costa Rica, I can actually do it about half hour away from my hometown.
What can our readers find on your website?
www.bucketlistadventures.blog Haven’t been featured anywhere yet! But looking to expand!
Do you have any travel tips or advice for our readers that might want to start a travel blog?
Write everything down! Don’t let fear of failure keep you from trying, be proud of yourself, share it with your friends and family, and just keep believing in yourself! It can be tough, especially in the beginning when you are just starting out, but don’t quit. Do it for yourself!
What are some of the highs and lows of travel blogging?
The highs are being able to share my adventures with others, hearing about amazing trips and ideas from every one you meet, and constantly being able to experience new things. The lows are it can be lonely, while travelling you are away from your friends and family.
What type of traveler are you?
Currently working full-time and travelling on the side, but am looking to become a full-time backpacker/nomad. I am lucky with my job as they are lenient with time off and travelling. I am paid hourly, so any trips I take will just cost me money, which is the downside. But, I am still able to travel and come back to work to save up for the next trip.
As someone (if this relates to you) who works full time (9-5) how do you fit in travelling around your work schedule?
I book time off well in advance, my last trip to Europe I booked the 3 weeks off like 3 or 4 months in advance. It takes a lot of working to be able to enjoy a 3 week vacation, so I am currently back in the working full-time while dreaming of my next vacation. It can be tough, especially being someone like me who just wants to travel full-time, but that’s life for right now.
What sites or other resources do you use to decide where and when you will go to a certain place or destination?
I read other travel bloggers posts about the destination, I am a member in several travelling groups on Facebook so I will post asking for recommendations from other travel bloggers, and I have used Pinerest before to find posts about the must-sees in that place.
Do you have any favourite travel books you have read or use?
I haven’t actually read any travel books exclusively! I read mostly blog posts!
What’s been some of your favourite destinations & why?
Paris, France is number 1 by a long-shot. It was the place I had wanted to see for my entire life so I jumped at the opportunity to go visit last summer. I also absolutely fell in love with Brussels, Belgium, Amsterdam, Netherlands and Boston, U.S

Top 5 Bucket-list Destinations and why?
Paris – because Paris is always a good idea. Thailand – have only heard absolutely amazing things from friends who have visited!
London – I’m a huge Potterhead, I’m not even going to pretend that’s not the number one reason I want to go.
Australia – It looks like an absolutely dream. I made friends from Australia while in Italy and they have made me want to visit even more, especially during my winter-time when it is summer for them.
Vancouver – It’s my Dad’s favourite city in the world, so I have heard all about it my entire life. Just recently my boyfriend travelled there and hearing about it and seeing the pictures made me so incredibly jealous! It’s SO beautiful and it’s in my own Country which makes it a lot more accessible!

Put away part of each and every pay check! I put $100 aside every month, and then around $50 from every pay.
Do you have any funny or strange travel experiences to share?
Please state what happened. I only really have one funny/strange experience, but it’s not one I’m ready to share yet!
Was there a place you visited that did not live up to your expectations & why.
What’s in your travel bag?
I use a GoPro and my iPhone to take pictures and videos, and edit everything using my Macbook
What travel apps do you use?
HostelWorld – this was honestly the most useful app for me to have during my travels in Europe. I didn’t plan book many places ahead of time during my travels so this app was a life saver. It gives real peoples reviews of each hostel, pictures, description, location, everything. It was amazing!
What are 3 things travelling has taught you?
There is a whole other side of me that is only brought out while travelling the world, I’m sure there is another version of yourself that you won’t even know exists until you’re experiencing new things, things you’ve only dreamed of.
The long trips are worth it. Fall back asleep, listen to some music and just be patient. Sometimes when you’ve been sitting on a train for the last 6 hours you can get restless… the anticipation of being where you’re heading can eat away at you and make seconds feel like years. But don’t rush it, just be patient. It’s all apart of the trip!
I’ve never travelled solo but I have travelled with a large group and with my significant other so for me it was important to learn to take some time for yourself. Enjoy the moment, breath it all in and just be.
Have you encountered any travel mishaps or scary moments if so what happened?
Nothing yet, thankfully!
Do you have any recommendations for cities and beach places that you have visited and loved?
I can’t recommend Cinque Terre enough. You’ll find everything you’re looking for there. It’s got amazing water to swim in, great food (it’s Italy, so obviously) and amazing people.
Where do you see your travel blog in two years?
I’m hoping it will have more of a following, have taken me on more amazing experiences and that I will have seen a lot more of the world.
Please share one travel quote you love.
